South Korea was my home base for eight wonderful years. I know and love this country like no other.
I moved to Korea in search of adventure. Like many others before me, I thought I’d stay one year. But I fell in love! This is where Kent and I met, and where we started our big outdoor adventures. Korea’s rugged landscape is the perfect setting for uncountable quests, whether you’re into hiking, cycling or ultra-running – or all of the above! In our near decade in the ROK, we thoroughly explored the country from top to tip. We visited every national and provincial park, climbed 120 summits, trekked around an island, rode our bikes across the country and ran nearly every off-road race on offer.
And I can tell you this: there is no safer, more convenient or more fun place to live, work and adventure. Korea remains a little off-the-beaten track for travel today, but its star is rising. Adventurers and tourists are coming to realize what locals and expats already know: this small country is something special!
